Hi,
A google search of "blank httpd.conf" showed that people have encountered the same blank file on debian based systems (ubuntu is once such distribution).
What about the file "/etc/apache2/apache2.conf" ? That file contains the configuration that you should be able to use.

hi,
In ubuntu their is no service like httpd heheh ; distro-2-distro changes.
instead of going to /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf ... find this one /etc/thttpd/thttpd.conf ;)
make sure you have the thttpd services installed.
if yes configure it and have fun .
